  • 3-D Critter Eyes

(20 eyes to a pack) These are a absolute requirement on good minnow patterns. Below is a video showing how good our 3-D eyes look and easy to tie streamers. • 3/0 Waxed Monocord Thread (116 Denier)
Small enough to tie small flies, strong enough to spin deer hair. A wonderful all around tying thread, especially for heavy handed beginning tiers.
  • 6/0 Unwaxed Flymaster Thread (70 Denier)
A very fine and strong thread that has been around for many years. Danville thread is the primary one we use in production over seas so you know it works. The unwaxed version makes very clean heads and lays a little flatter so it is widely used on full dressed Salmon Flies. The waxed version is the same thread lightly coated and helps in making a dubbing noodle. Both lay flat, both are perfect for midges, trout flies and even larger streamers. (similar to Wapsi's UTC Ultra Thread).

  • Aire-Flow Mayfly Wings
    need description
  • Aire-Flow Stonefly & Caddis Wings
These are a very lifelike precut wing. They make fast and easy to use. Plus they look spectacular. I like them and have developed a number of patterns over the years. The cloth like material is sturdy too. I also like the fact it is THIN so you can use it on patterns down to say..18 of so. Most of these wings are mottled so they look even more realistic. We offer these in Hopper-Stonefly tent style wings as well as caddis wings. You can also get our mayfly wings. I have some excellent performing dries we produce and sell you can look up in our fly section. Check Aire-flow Duns. Our Geezer Caddis is another one that uses these wings. I don't recall how many are in a package but there are a lot. Give these a try and you may fall in love with the realism they give your patterns.
  • All Around Dispensers
This is a desktop organizer, 6 compartment dispenser for yarns, wires tinsels and chenille's. You can buy them loaded form us or load your own,. It only takes a few minutes. The blank comes with 6 empty cassette spools. (Packs of 12 empty cassette are available as well and sold separate) An Spirit River exclusive that helps you organize all your yarns, chenille and wires. Once you have a few of these you will love them. What a great product to help organize your tying area. Ever notice how many cards, bobbins or packets of chenille or yarn you have laying around??? If you don't that is probably because you 'CANT FIND IT'! Well this jewel of a box helps you address this by organizing these and allowing you fast and easy access to exactly what you need. It only has a 6 1/8" foot print on your desk. yet hold 6 spools of most anything. This dispenser organizes all stranded fly tying materials. The concept works amazingly well for everything wrapped on a spool. Lead wire works great, as does copper and brass wire. Yarns feed perfectly; the self-locking feature keeps the strands firmly in place for cutting and holds it there until you are ready to use it again. It even works for egg yarn. Keeps every thing at your finger tips. And this allows you to tie more flies...so you can fish more. Measures 6 1/8" x 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" Made in America, Oregon to be exact.
  • All Purpose Bodkin
A sharp pointed bodkin comes in handy for lots of things. Normally used as a applicator for head cement, it also is good for cleaning out the glue on a hook eye or positioning feathers. Basic all around tool.
  • Angora Goat
An excellent all natural goat we climb mountains for. It has that cool translucency like Polar Bear or Seal so patterns tied with this are better. Many use this on traditional Salmon flies and we have long used it for traditional steelhead patterns as well. I like to make a tag butt with it when I tie Skunks. Available in individual packs only.
  • Antron Dubbing
An old favorite that refuses to go out of style. Easy to apply, with a fish attracting sheen. Equally effective for emergers, nymphs, and dries. Available in individual packs, or in our Traveller's Dispenser and Sof-Pak assortments.
  • Arctic Fox Tail Medallions
10 colors are available. Arctic Fox possesses a soft crinkly texture and length that is perfect for streamers and hairwing patterns, especially when a subtle life-like motion is desired. It has less guard hairs than the body portion and hence it tends to flow over the top of streamers as wings. Many of the European tube patterns have a collar made of fox zonked strips...but we feel the tails perhaps work better. However they are tougher to hackle around a hook and must be tied in around the shank. Due to the ever growing demand in Asia for quality furs these are drastically increasing in price like all furs. And yes these are consider wildlife so we only sell them in the USA.
  • Articulated Intruder Wire
Our stainless steel wire is multi-strand, black nylon coated wire. The over all quality is 5 star! It is .019 diameter and 26lb strength in . Perfect for articulated patterns. Very important for Intruders. This material is virtually the same as the Senyo wire sold elsewhere. It is not only strong but relatively kink resistant too. And the price beats most others. I have been personally using this wire and found it is unsurpassed in quality. I have completed a couple recent articles for Fish Alaska Magazine in which I use this material. It is perfect to hang a octopus style hook from, then tie it into one of our Ultra-SHanks. The flies have a lot of strength as well as movement. Finish it off with some of our UV2 materials. Kelly Galloup's Articulated Barely Legal on you tube is another perfect fly to use this cable on, as is his Bottoms up, the Circus Peanut, and Boogie Man. I watched Bob Wade tie a Articulated Trout Bass pattern that lends itself nicely to the use of our wire. I also suggest using our UV2 Fusion Egg Beads on all your Articulated flies like Kelly's or Bobs patterns. You need to add beads...and our smaller 6mm beads that are coated with our special UV2 process make a better fly.
  • Aussie Possum
Possum has always been one of the finest natural dubbings around and the Aussies seem to have the best Possum we have ever tasted, make that tied with. Really it makes classic patterns look beautiful and the material is a delight to use. Available only in individual packs.
  • Bag-Of- Loose Feathers
BAG-OF-FEATHERS are a mixed bag of mostly good quality Marabou. There are a ton of colors, some even UV2. I like using this because I can quickly key in on the color I want when tying and simply reach in the bag and grab it...rather than looking thru a dozen packs, opening and closing the them for the one I need. For me tho the drawback is I am color Blind...so some of my creations are a bit off. But heck...so am I. They look good to me and still catch fish. Fun Fact! Ever wonder why we put the zip on the bottom. As a talented but severely color blind tyer, I have a tough time knowing exactly what color I am using on many materials. I used to take the header card off materials and ALWAYS write the color on the outside of the package so down the road I could tell what color things were. It dawned on me in 1990 that ist is a smarter way to package if we could leave the card on the bag....showing the name, color, manufacturer and the description. Since then I almost never rip off header cards...and I know what I am using. I call this my 'Duh" moment.
  • Bag-Of-Bunny
This is very healthy large zip lock full of dozens of colors of scrap rabbit. It is an amazing bargain has corners, dos tone, barred and some are precut Zonker strips pieces. You never know what you will get...but it is sure to please. Use it in tying classes....or just throw it in a basket and put a $5.00 for 10 piece sign and tiers will scoop it up.
  • Bass Hook
Our straight eyed, bronze finished, chemically sharpened stinger style Bass Hook is awesome. I have always wondered why these are known as a bass hook, when I have tied many trout streamers on them. I love the wide gape that provides incredible hooking far beyond most any other hook. These hooks are also perfectly tempered for the right amount of wire strength to diameter. Use these for any any normal bass fly. Spin some deer hair and sculpture it into any shape you like. One of our new articulated patterns calls for this as a trailer hook. I also like to do simple weedless bass streamer flies with our Dos-Tone Zonker rabbit strips. They are very fast to tie, look and perform wonderfully. I add a set of our 3-D doll eyes. Plus the price is right for a quality product.
  • Bead Chain Eyes
Bead Chain Eyes are a great way to add a bit of weight and also give your pattern a durable eye. Commonly used on Boss's and Comets for steelhead and salmon flies or smaller ones for Damsels in still water fishing.. These are easy to tie in and again, add a nice profile. Here is a Riffle video with the first minute showing them used on a Comet. http://youtu.be/RXXE7aU_Tzs
  • Big Game Hooks
These are high strength, plated for non-corrosion, chemically sharpened, and feature a rolled point for easy penetration, great holding and clean releases. These hooks have an eye large enough to accommodate shock tippets. Far sharper and more durable than most stainless steel hooks. Size 2-2/0 = 7 hooks per pack Size 4/0 & 6/0 = 5 hooks per pack Size 8/0 & 10/0 = 4 hooks per pack. If your going to spend your precious time tying flies and then more of your time fishing, you need a good hook. It is a basic ingredient you should not skimp on.
  • Blue Heron Spey Hooks
Remember...its not worth buying cheap hooks. Or as the saying goes..."you can't afford to buy cheap". These feature a fine blued finish in C-80 steel with a very small, long return eye angled at 5% to prevent the fly from riding up on the swing. They have a slightly longer point and are tempered hard not brittle with a very old receipt so the point will NOT break off on the rocks during a back cast. They are long with a beautiful flow and are the finest exhibition hooks ever made. If your going to spend your precious time tying flies and then more of your time fishing, you need a good hook. It is a basic ingredient you should not skimp on.
  • Bobbin Assortment W/ Threader
A good tier can never have enough bobbins. Many tiers have 1-2 dozen and it makes tying a lot easier if you can eliminate all the searching and then threading a bobbin every time you need a different thread. This amazing little kit Includes one each of our standard, flared end, and fine tube wire bobbins and bobbin threader. 4 tools. Imported.
  • Bobbin Threader
Gotta have one. Many times I try to suck the thread threu the bobbin...and sometimes it becomes impossible. This simple threader is irreplaceable. Imported.

  • Bodi-Stretch
Bodi-Strech is a soft stretchable latex style material that is flat like a ribbon. You can cut and slice it and makes a great shell back for scuds or even a wingcase on most nymphs.
  • Boobie Eyes
Our boobie packets have a number of colors and come in FOUR SIZES IN A MIX OF COLORS IN EACH BAG. Boobie eyes are machined out of a soft yet durable foam and used as eyes on many wet flies. Normally you tie them in with a figure 8 thread technique at the head of the fly. I have yet to try this but I sense that you can use the small one for a number of ants and hopper style patterns, by laying the foam tube down the hook shank. They are very popular in Europe and word is spreading here in the USA. Dern Canadians have been on them for a while as well. Tie these on any sub surface streamer and fish your fly on a sinking line. The fly will float just off the bottom in the strike zone. Man are these effective...so hold on to your rod. References; Tequila Booby by our good friend Philip Rowley is another pattern that calls for our boobie eyes. Unfortunately he shows one made by Rainels. But ours is better...LOL. No doubt Phil will switch over to ours as soon as I give him some free ones. Another good boobie tying video is CandyFloss Booby David Downie, on youtube. Since these are new to us...no one uses ours YET. Learn Fly Tying Intermediate Lesson 2 The Booby with David Cammiss is good too.
  • Brite Beads™
Our Brite Beads can be purchased in quantities on 25, 100 and 1000. They are Patented! Our Brite Beads(TM) have a patented counter drilled hole to allow them to be easily added to most any hook shank. Our Brite Beads are different that those of our competitors in that pay the extra price and go to the extra effort to ACID ETCH THE GOLD PLATING on each bead. It is not a cheap or fast process....but the results speak for themselves. You get a bead that has a uncompromising finish and a bead that will not tarnish. (unlike our competitors who obviously don't care). Each and every bead has a gem like finish any Jeweler would be proud of. I like to think of it this way. If your going to spent the time and trouble to tie you own flies why not spent the extra FEW CENTS to get the very best. Be proud of the flies you tie and know you can always count on Spirit River's quality and commitment to service and innovation. THERE IS NO BETTER BEAD THAN OUR'S. These are similar to others beads called Cyclops Beads, and Dazzle Brass Beads.
  • Brite Blend™
Our popular 100% synthetic blend where we mix a touch of Diamond DubTM with soft “binding” fibers and incredible Antron. It is easy to dub and tease out for effective light refraction and life-like luster. Yet still have a more subtle quality for those that feel Brite isn’t rite. For best results, use our velcro dubbing teaser to create incredibly buggy bodies. Excellent for all Caddis and Hares Ears... or touched dubbed for thin damsel bodies. Individual packs, and in our Traveller’s dispenser.
  • Bucktail Combo Bag
Large 6"x9" Ziplock bag full of pieces of bucktail, you will receive a bit of everything. Standard, tip dyed, uv2 & plenty of colors,
  • Bug Partz
Bug-PartzTM is a new life like series of aquatic body parts created to make absolutely the most realistic flies ever. Wing buds are mottled with a epoxy coating and all Silicone legs and Bugworm legs are clear and designed to be colored by the tier. We offer individual kits for the Stonefly (4 sizes) and Mayfly (4 sizes) that comes with 4 each of the epoxy Wing-Buds and 4 each of the legs to match or you can try the Stonefly Kit Assortment or Mayfly Kit Assortment. These have two each, wing buds and legs in all four sizes. The Damsel-Dragon fly kits ( 1 size) has 4 of each too. The Bug-WormTM is a series of 64 graduated legs and can be cut to fit any larger fly your tying.
  • Cashmere Goat
8 beautiful colors are available. Another all natural finely tapered hair with a n excellent sheen that is 5-8 inches long. This works well on any number of streamers and saltwater patterns. It can be trimmed short or left long. The shine reminds me a bit like polar bear or even seal. I have always wanted to chop it up and build a couple dubbing brushes. I have used this for smaller thin streamer minnows. Has some motion as well. Try it...you will like it.
  • CDC Puffs
OUT OF STOCK CDC puffs are extremity hard to find and we are currently out of all stock on these. Sorry. We are searching the world for a reasonable source. from smaller species of ducks but still have the floating and moving attributes of normal CDC. These feathers come from directly over the oil gland are have millions of tiny barbs on each fiber on the quills. Puffs are easier to use than normal CDC as wings and legs on flies. Perfect for small flies.like size 16 and smaller. I love them for emerges and small caddis. You can not however, wrap these like a normal CDC or hackle. On 12 and size 14's I like to stack 2-3 puffs. The other huge advantage to any CDC is the movement these feathers give to a pattern. They are simply more insect like on the water. Harvested from commercially raised barnyard ducks. Not considered wildlife.
  • Celo-Z-Wing
Celo-Z-Wing is a popular wing materials made popular by the famous author and creative fly tyer John Betts. You will see references to Z-wing patterns and usually they mean this material. It is a semi clear milky colored material in its natural state. It can be easily colored with Primatic Marker. ( We offer a ton of colors). This is a very inexpensive material and easy to use. I love it for tent wing adult caddis. Betts was famous for tying all white flies and then marking them to the correct color while on the stream. Also a good use for this is wings on hoppers or adult stoneflies. You can also use a wing burned on it which seals multiple layers and I suspect might actually trap air in it.
  • Coastal Deer Hair
5 great and useful colors available and some deer comes in UV2 also. Coastal deer have shorter, denser hair that is ideally suited for tying hairwing patterns as it won’t flare wildly when forming the wings. It’s the hair of choice for small caddis, comparaduns, and flies in the tiny size range. I like this hair because it is so uniform and just plain beautiful. If you are looking for a fine hair that still has some length ( Runs about 1-1.25 inches long) this is what you need. As I always say...cheap is not always good...ours is good and not cheap. Deer is wildlife and we only sell this in the USA . Tanned and clean.
  • Complete Tool Assortment

  • Cone Heads
Cones are Cones...not really. Our machining is unsurpassed and the plating is fantastic. Spirit River is proud to be know as the leader in quality on all our brass products like these cones. Each cone is machined on a screw machine one at a time. All are then tumbled to remove many of the machining marks...then we plate them with a high quality finish. Our process takes longer & yes it will cost slightly more...but you should expect the best when you take your precious time to tie your own flies. These are ideal when streamers, sculpins, and deep running minnow patterns require more weight than Brite Beads provide. Our cone heads are just the ticket. *Add a few wraps of lead to the shank and shove it into the cone body to help prevent the cone from wobbling or being off set. Reverse the cone for a pattern that pushes water and creates a disturbance.
  • Cow Elk Spinning Hair
Carefully chosen for its uniform length and floatability. Perfect for spun bodies on bass bugs, muddler heads, and irresistible bodies. (Tying Tip: prior to spinning, remove the fine underfur and discard. Also, avoid working with too large a clump of hair)
  • Crab Bodies
Tying realistic and effective crabs is now a snap. For best results use Tear Mender. Each package has 3 top and 3 crab bottoms. First, Try tying the crustician eyes for you platform or frame that the bodies will sit on. IE; Once eyes are attached and glued solid we take the bodies and smear them with GOOP then lay them over the top and bottom of the shank. Again these eyes create the platform to hold the bodies. Once the goop has dried you have a great simple little crab body. Do not forget to add the Crab Legs Bodi-Partz that make the pattern come alive.
  • Cross-Eyed Cones
Our original design is so good, it too has been copied by our competitors. Our machining is unsurpassed and the plating is fantastic. Spirit River is proud to be known as the leader in quality on all our brass products like these incredible eyes. Each eye is machined on a screw machine one at a time. They are tumbled to remove many of the machining marks...then we plate them with a really high quality finish. Each eye is inspected then has resign poured into the pupil area. Next we bake it to harden the pupils. Our process takes a heck of a long time & yes it is quite expensive...but you should expect the very best when you take your time and your skills to tie your own flies. These eyes have proved themselves to be a great addition to any tiers arsenal. Our unique high quality eyes give patterns beautiful bait-fish appeal which predators key in on while also giving them the weight they need. Prismatic tape eyes are included. Other companies have what are called X-eyed Cones

NOw there is no need to burn and form you own. Why create a stink and watse your time. Try tying them in over the hook shank lets you crate amazing crabs. This gives the crab bodies we sell a frame that they can sit on. IE; Once eyes are attached and glued solid we take the bodies and smear them with GOOP then lay them over the top and bottom of the shank. Again these eyes create the platform to hold the bodies. Once the goop has dried you have a great simple little crab body. Packed 12 per bag.

  • Crystal Wrapz™
    need description
  • Dancing Legs
Dancing Legs are ones I use all the time. The advantage is their strength.color selection and frankly they have a touch of flash but are still subtle enough to not look pimped out. The patterns you create will have both color and a high degree of movement. Plus they are a lot less likely to NOT ROT like basic round rubber. Heres the scoop. Normal silicone legs have an inherent weakness wherever there is flake imbedded in it The flake creates weak areas in the strand. Dancing legs are extruded in a solid color and then the flake is added on top of the leg. It is then sealed with a high tech clear coating, which I am told, is also used as a clear coat for F-16 fighter jet canopies. Its as durable as it gets. Bulletproof ! Tie these in X style on large foam flies, or hang them back over your Intruders & Gaga's. They make great legs on sive 10-12 ants and beetles.
  • DAZL Eyes

  • Deep See Aluminum Eyes
A simple design that takes advantages of a lighter metal. And any salt water angler that knows his worth realizes how important eyes are to entice the predator attack. Machined from high-grade aluminum. Designed for patterns where a large pupil is important, without adding excessive weight. Includes Prismatic Tape eyes. These are growing popular with the big game fishers that want to lOOk. Tie these on with a simple figure eight and add a drop of cement on them to secure them.
